Information for Festival 2010

If you are unable to attend this year, put us on the calendar for next year!

Please return the nomination form OR register online by December 20, 2010 so that we may send the music out to you after January 15th. (If you need a nomination form, click here.)If this information does not apply to your area, please share it with your colleagues so we may reach students and directors who may wish to participate. Accepted students names will be available starting January 15, 2010. Music will be mailed /delivered starting January 18, 2010.

We would like to invite you, once again, to participate in an exciting event! The Tri-State Middle School Honor Band Festival. This event will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Decorah High School, in Decorah, Iowa. We have had overwhelming response to the festival each year, with about 60-80 schools participating yearly.
There will be two bands selected, one consisting of 7th grade and the other consisting of 8th grade students. This is a change from previous years. Each ensemble will have 110 - 120 members. The music selected will be both standard repertoire and "new issue" material. The conductors for this event will be announced in the fall.

Each student will receive a participation certificate, and copy of the evening program. T-shirts will be available for purchase. The Decorah Band Boosters will provide lunch and supper on a pre-paid basis so that you (directors or parents) need not be in attendance all day. The registration cost per student is $13.00 and is payable upon acceptance in the bands.

This year's festival will include opportunities for the director as well as students. Two director sessions will be offered.
